In 2002 BMdb1.0 was developed in an actual ministry setting in the second year of a startup ministry and continues in use today. It has evolved into a turnkey bereavement ministry system for a beginner called by the Holy Spirit into this service with the daunting prospect of having to stand up a new ministry quite possibly alone.

The Microsoft Access database incorporates many labor and time saving features so that a ministry of one can fully support even a large parish of 3000 families or more with a time commitment of only 2-3 hours per week on an annual parish budget of approximately $500.
